EXTREME CORRAL BEEF - in Bloomington on June 7th. While the Beef struggled, Dusty Burk put on a performace worthy of being named Offensive Player of the week as the Extreme went on to win 64-43. The Mini-Meat Wagon made the trip east, stopping at their favorite place to eat there...Meat Heads Burgers & Fries. The loss dropped the Beef to 9-4 and improved the Extreme to 7-6.

BEEF RUN WILD in WICHITA - as RJ runs for a team and league high 102 yards on Saturday, May 31st, earning UIF Offensive Player of the Week. The Offense ran up a total of 267 yards as the Beefense held the Wild to 6 total points and no touchdowns. It was a great time as The Meat Wagon Bus made the trip south, stopped at Wal-Mart and tailgated upon arrival. The win improves the Beef to 9-3, 1 game behind Sioux Falls, and drops the Wichita Wild to 2-10.

Outlaws Corral BeefBAD GUYS WIN - as the Billings Outlaws turned 3 Omaha Beef turnovers into touchdowns to beat the Beef 61-40 on May 17th, in front of a noisy crowd of 6,132 fans at the Slaughter House. The Beefense intercepted Billings on their first possession and scored a touchdown on the very next play. RJ Rollins also returned a kick for a touchdown but the Beef fell behind 21-13 in the 1st Quarter and never recovered. The loss drops the Beef to 8-3, snapping their 7 game win streak, while improving the Outlaws to 7-3. We thank the Nebraska National Guard on hand Saturday night and all the men & women who serve in the numerous Military Forces. We also thank those that joined us tailgating, including Hawkeye and Jake Hiffernan, of the Iowa Blackhawks.

Beef Arrest BanditsGOOD GUYS WIN - in the I-29 Battle between the Omaha Beef and the Sioux City Bandits on May 10th. It was everything expected at the Tyson Corral in Sioux City as the score at half time had the Beef up 23-20. The real shootout occurred within the last couple minutes of the game with Chris Eads securing an onside kick followed by Beef and Bandits touchdowns both within the last minute of play and Chris snagging another onside kick with 2 seconds left in the game to secure the Beef victory 53-47. The Beef improve to 8-2 while the Bandits drop to 3-6. Included in the 4,939 fans on hand to witness the drama were a herd of Beef Fans, many who headed north in the 3 Meat Wagon Fan Buses - a record for Beef Football! Big thanks to Dakota and Crew for a great tailgate party, complete with tents, food, music, prizes and fun - not even the rain could dampen our spirits! Thanks also to our Mad Jello Scientists, to Purple Bear and Banana Cat for their specialities, to Marlena for the pins and to everyone who provided prizes & food. Welcome to Beef Football, Tom, and Congratulations Beef on a great road win!

Melting IceBEEF MELT ICE - on April 26th at The Slaughter House in front of 5,552 fans. Colorado scored first but Omaha came back to take a 10-9 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter and extended the lead to 31-16 at half time. The Beef earned a 1 point rouge when the Ice downed Ricky's line drive kickoff in the end zone. Each team was held to only 7 points in the 2nd half to close out scoring with The Beef 38 - Ice 23. The win extends The Omaha Beef streak to 5 wins in a row, which ties for the 3rd longest winning streak in team history and improves them to 6-2 overall. The loss drops the Colorado Ice to 2-5. Not only was it a great win, complete with Beef Trading Cards for Kids Night, but also good to see Coach Sanders, Coach Fuller & Cathy, and former Beef players Allen Burrell & Clint Brown again! Congratulations to Sarah, who not only sang the National Anthem but lead a very successful Jr. Prime Dancer Camp and to the Rump Roasters for an AWESOME Wizard of Oz performance - have you ever seen such a cute Dorothy and beautiful Glenda Witch before?

'Twas the Night Before 1st Beef Home Game 2008
‘Twas the night before Beef Season, when all through the league
Not a football was stirring – just suspense and intrigue.
The helmets were hung by the lockers with care
In hopes that The Beef soon would be there.
The fans were excited, crazy & fed
As visions of touchdowns danced in their heads.
Prime Dancers in boots, Rump Roasters in drag
As we looked to salute our star spangled flag.
When out on the field, there arose such a clatter
We sprang from our seats to see what was the chatter.
Up in a flash and onto our feet
Clapping & cheering to Sir Loin’s drum beat.
The Slaughter House - in it’s glory and glow
Gave the luster of headlights to the Harleys below.
When what to our wondering eyes should appear
Coach Warren & The Beef - all muscle and steer.
With a new Coach, so lively & quick
We knew in a moment, we love our top pick.
More rapid than eagles his players they came
And he whistled & shouted and called Fans by their names…
Now Meatheads, Horny Harry, Jello Scientists & Mad Cow
On Banana Cat, Papa Beef, Cow Belle & Bull Horn…
To ALL Beef Football Fans
Now Cheer Away, Cheer Away, Cheer Away All…
As cow bells rang before the coin toss drop
The stampede of Beef – clip pity clop.
So up to the yard line the players they flew
With a bag full of plays and a few sneaky ones too.
And then in a twinkling, a Beef pass down the field
As defenses scrambled back on their heals.
As we blew on our horns and were turning around
Down the field the Beef came with a bound.
Dressed in orange, black & white from their head to their feet
What a display of Beefy athletes!
A bundle of plays they practiced all week
Even including a quarterback sneak.
Their eyes how they twinkled, their dimples so cute
Their minds were all focused, just ready to scoot.
Their passion their pleasure, was drawn up as a pro
As the adrenaline inside them was ready to flow.
They had a broad line and a little bit smelly
As the sweat ran off their offensive bellies.
They were quick, relentless & tough
And we knew in a moment – they were taking no guff!
A hutt 1-2-3 and a twist of their heads
Soon gave us to know we had nothing to dread.
They spoke not a word but went straight to their work
Offense & Defense and Special Team work.
Touchdown after touchdown, the Beef scored again & again
As the points ran up – Hallelujah, amen!
Big Thanks to Team Sprowls, Dakota and Crew
Beef Power, Beef Pride, Beef Tunes – yahoo!
It was fun, it was fast - great play after play
The bells, the wave, even Y.M.C.A.!
But we heard them exclaim as they ran through the gate
Beef Championship Drive 2000 and 8!

GO BEEF!!!
The Meatheads

BEEF STUMBLE VS. THE BILLINGS OUTLAWS - in the first game of the season on March 8th in Billings. The Outlaws scored first but the Beef came back to take their only lead 7-6 in the first quarter. The score at halftime was Billings 35-25 with the final score 70-37 in front of 4,158 fans, including The Meatheads who were there to help cheer on the Beef. Poor field position dogged the Beef thoughout the game. Between a false start in the pre-game ceremonies, promotion people on the field during play, a bucket of penalty flags, corn dogs, a blimp hovering over the scrimmage line, a 56 yard no good/oops good field goal, a live loose ball touchdown after time ran out and Horny Harry getting roped, it was a very very interesting game and we are soooo glad we were there!

PARTY 'TILL the BEEF COME HOME!
