WHO ARE THE MEATHEADS?

Matt & Lynda

Matt & Lynda - Our Founders

HISTORY - The Meatheads started in 2000, the same year that The Beef Football Team began playing. The Meatheads were the brain child of our founder, Matt, who is still affectionately known as "The Prime Meathead". Story goes that Matt, and his wife, Lynda, had already purchased their season Beef tickets when Matt & Steve "first conceived" The Meatheads during one of the guy only Fridays at The Fox & Hound English Pub. Shirts were purchased, and the rest is history. There were 6 active members in the original Meathead group. Matt and Lynda were eventually transferred to San Francisco, California, and then to Blacklick, Ohio, (sounds like a Beef town to me) where they continue to keep tabs on The Beef and The Meatheads. While we have Meatheads scattered throughout the Slaughter House, most of us supported The Beef, during the regular and post-season games, in Section 73 until 2006, when we moved to Section 9. Several of us used to travel to the home games in The Meatmobile, powered by our designated driver, Cap'n Jerry. The Meatheads have been to every home game since The Beef started and many of the away games.

2011 MEATHEADS - There are 71 unique and neurotic, fun-loving Meatheads this year. We are proud to have Meathead chapters in Atlanta, Chicago, Florida, Heaven, New Jersey, Oregon, Phoenix, Seattle, Sioux Falls, St. Louis and West Virginia. Following is a brief bio of each one:

AlexAlex - has been a Meathead for 6 years and enjoys going to the Beef games with Grandma Pam and getting the autographs after the games. He likes sports and plays football (future Beef we hope) and baseball (that sport where you watch the grass grow).

AndreaAndrea - became a Meathead in 2007. She enjoys going to Beef games with her Mom. She likes to drink at the games and look at all the cute guys in their uniforms. She moved back from Lawrence, where she was a charter member of our Kansas Meatheads Chapter. She is a season ticket holder and is looking forward to going to all the home games. She loves staring at the cute boys and oh, did she mention, she loves all the hot guys? She's also known as "Gertie" and is a hoot to be around (must take after her Mom)...

AudreyAudrey - joined the Meatheads in 2007. She enjoys going to Beef games with Mr & Mrs Mad Cow...who wouldn't! She and her husband, Kurt, planned their 2006 wedding around the Beef schedule. She plans on going on more bus trips this year since they are a blast, but have to coordinate around their "kid" or "kid-free" weekends as they have 5 daughters between them. They enjoy bringing their daughters with them to help cheer for The Beef and enjoy the post-game parties afterwards. Audrey is one fun lady and yes, Horn is really their last name, very appropriate for great Beef Fans!

BeckyBecky - has been a Meathead for 6 years, is always up for a party and does a mean pole dance (with or without the pole).... She's a great Beef & Husker Football Fan and has gone on Sioux City, Sioux Falls & Rockford Beef Bus trips. She enjoys being a Grandma & bringing Kobe to some of the games. Becky's row won Rowdy Row of the Game June 11, 2005...duh!

BillBill - became a charter member of our New Jersey Meatheads Chapter in 2010. Bill is married to Sara and traveled from New Jersey to The Slaughter House to watch a Beef game in 2010 - what a fun time that was! He is a sweetheart and a family member of the Green Village Packing Company in New Jersey - so is very familiar with all things Beef. Welcome Bill!.

CalvinCalvin - is better known as Beef Strip. He joined the RumpRoasters in 2005 and the Meatheads in 2006 - what a combination that is!! He's got enough energy for all of us...

CarmenCarmen - became a Meathead in 2008. Her step daughter, Samantha, is one of the Prime Dancers, which is why they started attending the games in 2007. They had such a good time, that they couldn't wait for the new season to begin. Carmen works for Cox and enjoys both Husker and Beef football. Neither her nor her husband, Henry, were born in Nebraska...but they got here as fast as they could!

CarolCarol - has been a football fan (Nebraska and NFL) since she was very young! She used to keep the stats on the Nebraska players during the games when she listened or watched on TV and still sees every game that she can! One evening during May of 2000, she saw some coverage of the Omaha Beef on TV and decided to go to the next game. Needless, she was hooked! She purchased season tickets the next year and has upgraded her seats twice over the years--each time to get closer to the action! Her family and friends always tease her during Beef season because they get such a 'hoot' out of her love of the games and the people! It is great to be able to meet the coaches and players and attend the bus trips and meet other 'rabid' fans!! It is like a never ending party that starts over again each year! She is also a ballroom dance student and has begun competing! It would be great to have some 'cow bells' at a dance event in the near future (now that would be interesting!).

Purple BearCaroline - better known as Purple Bear became a new Meathead in 2005 and used to attend home & away games when living in Nebraska. She's definitely a Daddy's Girl and a very talented artist who loves to draw and finger knit. One of her new best friends is Baylee who loves to play ball with her. Purple Bear is a charter member of our Oregon Chapter of Meatheads this year.

CarrieCarrie - is originally from West Virginia but lived in Omaha for a year during the 80's where she gained an appreciation for Godfather's Pizza. She then lived in Florida before moving to Georgia, where she fell madly in love with some fool singing karaoke whom her co-worker had just introduced to her. She is a CPA currently working for herself and was converted to a BEEF Fan after watching a game with some crazies in Alabama. Carrie joined our Atlanta, Georgia Meathead Chapter in 2005.

CherylCheryl - has been a Meathead since 2006. Her first bus trip on the Meat Wagon was to Rockford. Her field of expertise is Purchasing. Cheryl and her husband, Rod, have been Beef Fans for 8 years and buy extra season tickets so they can bring different friends to each game. Miller Lite is her drink of choice.

MadCowChuck - better known as MadCow. He's one crazy dude who loves the Beef and Bus Trips (grape is his favorite jello shot). He also hand-crafted the MadCow 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 &l 2010 Horn Award for Beef Football's Best Fan and participated in the 2006 Beef playoff game coin toss against Evansville.

We initially met at the Omaha Beef/Utah Warriors game in Salt Lake City in 2004 when he attended the game with fellow Utahns for Nebraskans. He works for the USAF Reserves as a bomb loader and served in Kuwait right after 9/11. We also were fortunate to hook up with him and his sister, Donna, at a Husker game in Lincoln that fall where he partied with some of The Meatheads, Dash & Mad Cow. He served active duty in Iraq in 2006 and 2008, so...the man gets around and we hope he gets up to the Slaughter House this season to join us all at a game. He married his wife, Imee, in 2006.

Dan M.Dan M. - aka "Mac" joined the Meatheads in 2005, likes Beef and Husker Football & loves to party. Story goes - when he was in the service he was so excited to get his orders for the Netherlands until he found out we didn't have a base there and NE actually stood for Nebraska.....he also enjoys "orange juice", "dog" collars and pet areas - yup, sounds like a born Meathead to us. Dan's row won Rowdy Row of the Game June 11, 2005 & was a Sumo Wrestler at a 2006 Beef game - ...and he's been on the Around the World Beer Tour - no surprise there...

DanDan T. - enjoys music and is a keyboardist in 2 bands - Hawk and Manna. He is an avid Bears Fan and has a daughter named Cerise. Dan joined The Meatheads in 2004.

He moved to a suburb outside of Atlanta where he teaches Anatomy to Chiropractic students but looks forward to Runzas, Big Fred's Pizza and Goody pop... He keeps up with the going ons in Omaha through the World-Herald online and that's how he found out about the BEEF. He's been following them ever since. He loves indoor football and watched the local AFL team, but it was not the same as the BEEF! Unfortunately he only gets up to the big "O" a couple of times a year, so he doesn't get the opportunity to see them play but he can be loud and supportive, even from that far away. This is Dr. Ron's 8th year as a Meathead. We had fun attending the Beef / Tennessee Valley Raptors game in Huntsville together during 2005 and hope he & his family can attend a Beef game at the Slaughter House this year.

He sprouted a new set of horns in 2008, was known for having to buy emergency beer and for his cowbells that he awarded to "his player of the game"....Yup, that's our Harry, who went to the big indoor football arena in the sky on 10/24/2008. Cap'in JerryJerry - Cap'n Jerry is a 2000 charter member of the Meatheads. He is a very proud grandfather of three great kids, 1 great-grandchild and has been a Meathead since 2003.

Jo loves bowling, working with stained glass, football (College, Pro and Semi-Pro), ceramics, shopping and traveling. She tutors grade school students in Math, Spelling and Science. RodRod - has been a Beef season ticket hold for 8 years and was a new Meathead in 2006. He is married to Cheryl and went on his first Meat Wagon bus trip to Rockford in 2006. He is a Service Manager and likes Bud Light. He & his wife purchase extra tickets so they can bring friends to the games.

Papa BeefRoger - is also known as Papa Beef, Moose and Tweetyman - he looks like a RumpRoaster and has a heart as big as a Moose. He is a dog walker and wants to be a dog in their house when he dies. Roger became a Meathead in 2002 and needs regular "Therapy".

SaraSara - became a charter member of our New Jersey Meatheads Chapter in 2010. She loves to party, travel and "visit" the casinos. She has a heart of gold and is married to Bill. Sara and her husband flew from New Jersey to Omaha to attend a Beef Game at the Slaughter House in 2010 - trust us that was an evening we shall not forget as Sara became "an honorary Prime Dancer" and checked out some of the players' "abs"....Welcome to the Meatheads, Sara! .

SheilaSheila - is a big Beef & Husker fan and joined the Meatheads in 2005. She's been married to her high school sweetheart, Pat, for over 36 years. They always say their marriage works because she is 1/2 deaf and he is 1/2 blind, so they don't see or hear things that make other couples crazy! Her mother always said that Pat had the "patience of Joseph" but she was old and senile at the time (sorry Mom). A native of Omaha, Sheila (Nana) & Pat (Papa) have 2 kids, Erin & Megan, and 3 grandchildren. Sheila's hobbies are reading, bowling, sand volleyball, ignoring her husband and some drinking.

SteveSteve - now here's one "hunka hunka burning man"....also known as allknight.com and Luv Muffin or is that Stud Muffin? (are you picking up a trend here?) Steve is a 2000 charter member of The Meatheads and a drummer in Old Market on Sunday nights.

What He Wants To Be When He Grows Up- Retired
Goals - To be Retired
Motto - He wants to be Retired
Flops - He's Not Retired Yet

SueSue - also known as Mrs. Mad Cow, is the most patient woman on earth. She's a lot of fun and a long time Beef Fan. Sue has been on several bus trips and is Executive Director of the Mad Cow Fan Club. We welcomed Sue as a new Meathead in 2006.

TabathaTabatha - is a 9 year old 3rd grader that loves to sing, dance, play with her Barbies & stuffed dalmation dogs. She loves cheering on the Omaha Beef. She has been a fan of the Omaha Beef since her first game in 2004 at age 3. She wants to be a Prime Dancer when she grows up. She never sits at games - she's the one at the top corner stairwell with pom-poms in hand, covered in orange, yelling or dancing to the beat of the music. She has also been the covergirl, along with Prime Dancer Sam, for the dance camp. She & her twin brother Tanner wish they had games all year long. We welcomed Tabatha to The Meatheads in 2009.

TannerTanner - is a 9 year old 3rd grader that loves reading comics & books to his Mom, making cities with his Playmobil sets, trains & legos. The thing he loves most of all is going to the Omaha Beef Football games with his family. He has been a fan of the Omaha Beef since his first game in 2004 at age 3. He wants to be a Beef football player when he grows up! Tanner also likes to wear facepaint like his Daddy does for the games. Look for the "STING" influenced pair yelling and shaking those cowbells and horns behind Tabatha's cheering. Tanner has been a Meathead since 2009

TeresaTeresa - (also known as T) attended several bowl games, loves vacations (especially to tropical areas such as the Bahamas, Costa Rico or Jamaica), and used to snow ski when she was younger and could survive the tumbles. She was nicknamed "Taco" by her Driver's Ed Teachers. She is also known as "sleepless Teresa" and is married to "allknight.com" (go figure...). When she grows up, she either wants to be a chef or collect sea shells for necklaces on an island. Teresa is a 2000 charter member of The Meatheads and is also known for her "buckets" and the coconut bra...hmmm. Teresa won the Honorary Beef's Biggest Fan Award May 8, 2003 and is the proud owner/operator of the Beef Bra.

TerryTerry - works, plays, drinks and likes cards. He liked his first spanking & his favorite number is 69. He joined the Meatheads in 2003 and is a one man party...

TimTim - is a Father of boy girl twins and married to Michelle. He enjoys taking his family to the games and watching them have the same spirit and passion as he does. He also enjoys the bus trips on the Meat Wagon with The Meatheads. Look for the face-painted duo with his son and sometimes trio (little Roddie) cheering on the BEEF and most nites losing his voice. Tim & his family sit in section 52-aka Beefstrip's Box as Tabby wants to name it. Tim joined The Meatheads in 2009 and became a Rump Roaster in 2010.

TracyTracy - was first introduced to Indoor Football in 2008. She and her husband, Shane (aka Rump Roaster Bravehawk), were hooked after attending their first game. She enjoys the fast paced action of the game, as well as the fanfare before and after. She is a cosmetologist who enjoys spending time with her husband, her mom and her 2 dogs. We welcomed Tracy as a new Meathead in 2008!
